With a newborn lifestyle photography, I’ll capture all these moments right in the comfort of your own home. We’ll keep things relaxed and natural, focusing on the real connections and raw emotions within your family. After all, these aren’t just photos – they’re memories of your family’s incredible journey. I can’t wait to help you document them.

When adjusting to having a newborn having pictures in the comfort of your own home make for a relaxed and personal experience. Our photography style focuses on natural and candid shots, showcasing the genuine emotions and routines of your newborn’s daily life.

We incorporate your home’s unique aesthetics, including the nursery, to capture your family’s authentic story. Siblings, pets, and parents are all part of this exciting journey – we encourage their participation to create truly heartwarming family portraits.

The Process

The optimal time for a newborn lifestyle shoot is within the first three weeks. This allows us to capture your baby in their natural, sleepy, newborn state. These sessions are comfortably carried out in your own home, making it personal and special.

Prior to the session, we’ll discuss your preferences and expectations.

During the shoot, we’ll capture the simple, everyday moments – feeding, snuggling, or even changing diapers. It’s about your connection with your baby and the love that fills your home.

Within two weeks of your session, you’ll receive a link to a preview gallery of your images. You’ll select your preferred images included in your package, and have the option to purchase additional digitals, fine art prints, and products.

A $100 plus tax retainer fee is required to reserve your session on my calendar. The balance is due on the day of your session.

When should I schedule my newborn lifestyle photography session?

We recommend booking your newborn session from your 20-week scan, to take place within the first three weeks after birth. At this stage, babies tend to be sleepier and easily poseable for those cute, curly newborn shots. Last minute bookings are always welcome, pending availability.

Will you bring props for the session?

In a lifestyle session, we make use of your home environment, including baby’s nursery, your bedroom, or living room. We usually don’t use many props as the aim is to capture your natural family moments.

What should we wear for the newborn lifestyle photography session?

We recommend dressing in comfortable, neutral-coloured clothing that complements your home decor. The focus should be on your family’s interaction and your newborn, so avoid busy patterns or logos. Avoid neon and bright colors and everyone being in the same colors.

Can other family members or pets be included in the photoshoot?

Absolutely! We encourage including all members of the family in this life-changing moment, including siblings and pets. They are all part of your newborn’s life and will make the images even more meaningful.

How long does a lifestyle session usually last?

A lifestyle session typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes, and breaks as necessary.

How should we prepare our home for the session?

Before the session, ensure your home is well-lit, preferably with natural light. Tidy the rooms where we’ll be shooting, such as the nursery, your bedroom, or living room. Don’t worry about your home being picture-perfect; we’re capturing real-life moments!
