Milestone sessions are always so important to capture because your baby grows so fast in their first year. A grow with me package is the best way to capture their progress each step of the way. I always recommend my clients call me when their babies are sitting, versus scheduling for an certain age, typically known as a 6 month session. This is because it is fun to celebrate and capture that milestone of sitting and then we can also incorporate tummy time, playing with their feet, capturing their laughs and so much more.
Sitter sessions are fully styled with complete access to outfits and minimalistic props from my prop closet including bowls, fabric, headbands, and bonnets. For this particular session, I used two custom made outfits by The Little Things, one of my favorite prop vendors who is local to Arizona and makes a variety of outfits for newborn and up, and two headbands. I also used a wrap and a hand-carved bowl.
Sweet Gracie came in for her newborn session just 7 months ago and now she is sitting! She came in for her milestone studio session and I was so excited to see how much she had gown since I had seen her last. And who doesn’t LOVE a chunk baby?! Her chubby cheeks and thighs.. YUMMY!! This is the perfect time to capture all of their rolls, and chubby feet, before they start crawling and walking burning calories.
I love capturing all those details: eyelashes, which usually have filled out and darkened, chubby feet, in addition to the blossoming personalities from big smiles to active play and sensory time with fabric, baby exploration as they play with their feet and so much more.
Gracie’s personality shined so brightly into the lens with her big gummy smile. She loved clapping, wiggling and listening to music. I always love having the mom sit right next to me too and play peek a boo and sing songs with me. The babies always get a kick out of their moms and the bond they have is always amazing to see, and capture. Her big smile said it all! I cannot wait to capture her cake smash session and help her celebrate ONE YEAR!
